Mama's Home selected for 2023 RISE: A Feminist Book Project Reading List

I’m super excited to announce that Mama’s Home (written by Shay Youngblood and illustrates by me!) has been selected for the 2023 RISE: A Feminist Book Project Reading List!

Rise: A Feminist Book Project, formerly known as the Amelia Bloomer Book Project, is a recommended reading list for ages 0-18 that promotes quality feminist literature for young readers. This list is part of the Feminist Task Force and the Social Responsibilities Round Table.

Each year Rise: A Feminist Book Project recommends recent books with significant feminist content for readers from birth to 18 years old.

I’m so happy that I can continue doing work that empowers young readers to stand in their power – especially black children! And I look forward to continue building, new inspiring worlds across many mediums!
